Questions We Often Hear
Here’s What to Know First
What types of cases do you handle?
We focus on serious personal injury, wrongful death, and estate-related litigation. This includes car and truck accidents, industrial injuries, unsafe property conditions, medical malpractice, and probate disputes. We do not handle criminal cases, divorce matters, or most product liability claims. If you’re unsure whether your case fits, we’re happy to discuss it with you.
Do I pay anything upfront?
Injury and wrongful death cases are handled on a contingency basis, which means you pay nothing unless we secure a recovery on your behalf. There are no retainers or hourly rates for these cases. Estate litigation may involve different fee arrangements, depending on the situation. We’ll explain everything clearly before moving forward.
Will I talk to the lawyer directly?
Yes, you’ll speak directly with Attorney William Traylor—not a call center, and not a junior associate. From your first call through the end of your case, your communication won’t be filtered through layers of staff. We believe that personal service and direct contact are essential to building trust. That’s one of the advantages of working with a dedicated solo practitioner.
Are you able to take cases outside Birmingham?
We handle cases across the entire state of Alabama and throughout Georgia. Whether you’re located in Huntsville, Montgomery, Mobile, or anywhere in between, we’re ready to help. For clients outside the Birmingham area, we offer flexible options for communication and meetings. Our goal is to make the process as convenient and accessible as possible.
What if the insurance company already made me an offer?
Before accepting any offer, it’s wise to speak with a lawyer who understands the full value of your claim. Insurance companies often make early offers that are lower than what a case is truly worth. We can review your situation, explain your rights, and help you decide whether the offer is fair. If it’s not, we’re fully prepared to negotiate or litigate for a better outcome.
